Review: Botanicals 'Try Me Pots'

I recently tried two of Botanicals 'Try Me' pots that they are promoting during the Soil Association's Organic Beauty and Wellbeing Week, running 15-21 May.
Botanicals are a cruelty-free, organic and vegan skin care company. I've enjoyed previous products that I've tried from Botanicals (see reviews here and here) and am very impressed by their ethics.
Lemongrass Revitalising Body Lotion

I love citrus scents and just can't get enough of them. The 'Try Me' pots are great for facial skin care, not so much for body care when I like to be generous with it after my shower. I got about one and a quarter uses, so it's quite difficult to assess but first impressions were that I'd chosen the wrong type for my skin. I'm more of a butter or balm girl as I need a thick emollient for my dry skin and thin lotions don't usually cut it. The body lotion was gloriously scented (the reason I chose it!) and divine to put on but I didn't feel that it moisturised enough for me. As I said, that was down to me, not Botanicals. It's a lovely product but I should have chosen a balm! I don't really know why I didn't. For those looking for a light lotion for normal skin, it would be a perfect choice for summer.

Ingredients: Aqua, helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil* butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter*, theobroma cacao seed butter*, glyceryl stearate, cetearyl alcohol, glycerine***, prunus armeniaca (apricot) kernel oil*, simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil*, sucrose stearate, sodium stearoyl glutamate, aloe barbadensis leaf juice powder*, camellia sinensis leaf extract*, coco-glucoside, coconut alcohol, tocopherol, xanthan gum, benzyl alcohol, lactic acid, dehydroacetic acid, parfum* citrus nobilis (mandarin orange) peel oil*, cymbopogon flexuosus (lemongrass) oil*, citral**, geraniol**, linalool**, limonene**. (*Organic ingredient. **Natural constituents of essential oils. ***Organic origin.)
Rose Clay and Rosehip Revitalising Renewal Mask

This is where the 'Try Me' pot comes into its own because there is more than enough in this little pot of splendour to really trial it. Firstly, the scent is delicate and gorgeous, just like the Nourish Face Polish. It goes on smoothly and doesn't dry on the skin and feels ever so gentle. Secondly, it gave me a good giggle because it looks like bad fake tan on my pasty white face 😀 My skin felt clean and treated afterwards. I absolutely adored it and once I've finished this post, I'm off to use it again.

Ingredients: Helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil*, butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter*, kaolin, glycerine***, cetyl alcohol, cetearyl alcohol, rosa canina fruit oil*, simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil*, ricinus communis seed oil*, decyl glucoside, camellia sinensis flower extract*, parfum*, rosa centifloia (rose) flower oil*, pelargonium graveolens (rose geranium) flower oil*, lavandula angustifolia (lavender) flower oil*, cymbopogon martinii flower oil*, cananga odorata flower oil*, tocopherol, geraniol**, citronellol**, linalool**, limonene**, citral**. (*Certified organic. **Natural constituents of essential oils. ***Organic origin.)
In summary, I really enjoyed my two trials and it just confirmed to me what a great brand Botanicals is and how I want to keep using their products. The 'Try Me' pots are a great idea for anyone who wants to dip their toe before going organic/cruelty-free/vegan. More brands should provide minis.
