Review: The October Love Lula Beauty Box

This month's box was filled with facial and body care goodies from some great brands.

KATHLEEN TRANQUIL FIELDS BODY AND MASSAGE OIL
For the second month running, Kathleen is the stand-out product in the Love Lula box for me! This gorgeous oil with lavender, vanilla and frankincense does its job and gives you lovely skin after a shower and more than that, it leaves me relaxed and ready for bed. I absolutely love it. 😍😍😍 Also Kathleen's packaging is really pretty, especially the design on the glass bottle.

At the time of writing, the oil was out of stock at Love Lula (I'm not surprised!), but you can view the ingredients and buy at Kathleen's site here

LYONSLEAF BEAUTY BALM AND MUSLIN CLOTH

It was a total thrill to get this balm as I had just finished a pot of it and I adore it. It's probably my favourite cleansing balm of the year. It's so fragrant and comforting and the sunshine colour brightens up grey days. Not to mention that it's a superb cleanser and leaves the skin feeling amazing. I'd urge anyone who wants to try oil cleansing and doesn't know where to start to give this balm a try. You won't need to look anywhere else. The cloth was a great bonus too as some of mine are definitely looking a bit grubby - the legacy of charcoal and chocolate skin care!
Ingredients: (95% organic/wild harvest): orbignya oleifera [cold pressed babassu oil] • butyrospermum parkii [raw organic shea butter] • macadamia ternifolia [organic, cold pressed, macadamia nut oil] • simmondsia chinensis [organic, cold pressed, jojoba oil] • prunus amygdalus dulcis [cold pressed sweet almond oil] • tocopherol [natural vitamin E oil] • cymbopogon martinii [palmarosa essential oil]• salvia sclarea [clary sage essential oil] • styrax benzoin [benzoin resin] • pogostemon cablin [patchouli essential oil] • rosemarinus officinalis [organic rosemary essential oil] • calendula officinalis • [calendula flower extract] • note: the essential oils naturally contain: citral, geraniol, benzyl benzoate, benzyl cinnamate, farnesol, limonene, linolool

MADARA SMART ANTI-POLLUTION CHARCOAL AND MUD REPAIR MASK
This was a good try-me size from a brand very popular in the Love Lula box and it's vegan. As usual when I've got an amusing mask on, someone had sixth sense and face-timed me and so a laugh was had by all. Onto the science and this mask promises to outsmart 90% of free radicals while delivering a boost of vitamin A, B3 and 17 amino acids.
It's very smooth and easy to apply. I felt some tingling as soon as it went on but I managed the full ten minutes. The mask doesn't dry out which is a huge bonus. It washes off really easily (with a cost to your muslin cloth) and I had no redness afterwards. My skin felt smooth and detoxed and I'd rate this as another great Madara product, which is going to come in very handy during winter.

MADARA SAMPLE PACK
I've used a sample of the Madara CC cream before and I really liked it. The light beige is an excellent match for me and the cream goes on easily and has good coverage. I'd recommend it for those looking for a cream without the full coverage of foundation. It's not vegan as it contains beeswax. At the time of writing, it was out of stock on Love Lula, probably due to a rush from those who tried it in the box and wanted the full size.

The sample pack also came with a SPF 30 sunscreen. I'm not one of those people who routinely uses sunscreen year round as I believe it's a balancing act between getting adequate vitamin D and protecting your skin. I've previously had low vitamin D levels so I believe in exposing my face and arms to around 15 minutes of sun when it's strong enough, before covering up/applying cream. For that reason, I'll keep this cream to try next year.
