RMS BEAUTY LUMINIZING POWDER IN GRANDE DAME
When I saw RMS had a new powder highlighter out and it was vegan, I knew I had to try it as I haven't managed to find a satisfactory natural highlighter. I was a little disappointed to see they didn't have the colour I'd normally choose - icy-white with green/purple/blue shift LOL - but then that was hardly going to be an option. Although the palest colour, grande dame, looked a little too dark for me when it arrived, I nonetheless had a go.
I was very pleasantly surprised. The powder is kind of goldish and gives me a lovely warm glow. It's soft and very easy to apply and is really pretty. While it's not cheap at £38, I'd definitely give it a thumbs-up and as I'm the palest of the pale, I recommend it for pale skin.

ODYLIQUE BABY REPAIR LOTION
Due to stress at work, my eczema which has been dormant for around 2 years is back with a vengeance where I always get it, on my right leg. I have a large selection of natural balms and butters at home and while they're all great moisturisers and healers, none were getting to the root of the problem - the itching which prevents any healing taking place when I scratch it till it bleeds.
I was looking for a vegan balm and there were few at Love Lula without beeswax, but then I came across Odylique's new baby range. Now, in the past when I've reviewed baby skin care at this blog, it's been what I've used on my Z, now 5, but I had no hesitation in picking this up for myself when I saw the magic ingredient, chickweed, which relieves itching.
I was a little unsure about getting a lotion as I find they don't have much emollient effect the way butters and balms do, but I knew I needed something more than emollient (after all, pure shea butter wasn't working); I needed something with healing ingredients to moisturise, take down inflammation and help with itching. This lotion, containing olive oil, chamomile, aloe vera and chickweed, purports to do all that.
| At the start of treatment |
I started using the lotion intensely, maybe 6 times a day and I noticed that the itching was soon less and the inflammation was going down.
| 2 days into treatment |
The lotion was especially great overnight and inflammation was significantly reduced every morning when I got up, despite what damage I might have done to it during the day, because of course there were still periods of itching, but these were fewer and much less intense. (I don't think I drew blood with scratching once I started using the lotion).

The above picture is the current state of my leg. The scaly aspect is improved as is the inflammation, the skin is starting to flake which is a good sign for me and I've been able to use a body scrub on it with no irritation. I see an end in sight to this and I'm so grateful to Odylique for this magical healer. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it for both adults and babies.
