I recently tried some of the award-winning Nom Nom range, skincare for mother and baby made without the usual nasties. They are Soil Association certified, vegan (apart from their perineum balm which has beeswax) and the baby range has no tree nut oils or essential oils.

I might add that my son is three and I have been using natural products on him since the beginning of this year for his dry skin and eczema. 

Firstly, I love the packaging - white and orange, reflecting the sunny contents within. Really, really pretty and understated. Usually I don't comment on packaging, unlike a lot of bloggers, but this really stood out to me. 

ALOE VERA AND ORANGE BLOSSOM BABY BATH

This is a sweet-smelling, creamy wash  that was really nice to apply to my son in the bath and left his skin feeling soft. I wasn't too happy about seeing benzyl alcohol on the list of ingredients due to its drying nature, however it's the last on the list, meaning it's in the smallest quantity. It's comparable with other natural washes I've used and I would purchase again.

Ingredients – Aqua (filtered water), Citrus aurantium amara (orange blossom) flower water*, Coco glucoside, Helianthus annuus (Sunflower) seed oil*, Vegetable glycerine**, Calendula officinalis (Marigold) flower extract*, Aloe barbadensis (aloe vera) leaf juice powder*, xanthum gum (derived from corn), citric acid, dehydroacetic acid, benzyl alcohol.

BABY OIL WITH STARFLOWER

This is a lovely lemon-coloured oil with a mild, coconut smell. My son hates having cold cream straight on his skin after a bath so he started asking to have this oil on when he realised it was warm and soothing 😃. It's easily absorbed and non-greasy and great to use all over.

Ingredients – Helianthus annuus (Sunflower) seed oil*, Cocos nucifera (Coconut) oil*, Borago officinalis (Starflower) seed oil*, tocopherol (Vitamin E from Sunflower)

BABY BUTTER WITH CALENDULA AND EVENING PRIMROSE

Another delicately fragranced product which comes out of the jar easily and just melts into the skin. I used this in conjunction with the oil on extra dry bits and the skin was softened and soothed. It's a delightful butter made from some of the best skin-loving ingredients and something I would buy again.

Ingredients– Butospermum parkii (Shea) butter*, Cocos nucifera (Coconut) oil*, Helianthus annuus (Sunflower) seed oil*, Simmondsia chinensis (Jojoba) seed oil*, Oenothera biennis (Evening primrose) oil*, Calendula officinalis (Marigold) flower extract*, Tocopherol (Vitamin E from sunflower)

Also in the sample pack I tried was some pregnancy stretch butter, made with camellia and vanilla. I haven't tried this yet as I am some way past pregnancy but I know it will be multi-purpose so I'll use it on dry bits, on my C-section scar which still itches at times and maybe even as an oil cleanser. The ingredients look fantastic and it has great reviews from mums on the website. Nom Nom also do a relaxing oil and perineum balm for pregnancy.

In summary, what a beautiful range of soothing natural products for both baby and mother. Everything seems lovingly thought out and prepared from the packaging to the ingredients and gift packs are also available which would be a nice treat for an expectant mother. I enjoyed the experience of using this skincare with my son and I would buy again.
