Review: Nadarra Cosmetics Body Butter and Facial Oil

Recently I had the good fortune to test two products from new-to-me company Nadarra Cosmetics. They use simple recipes, with organic ingredients. Their butters and lip balms contain beeswax; the rest of the line are vegan. I tried their lemon body butter and one of their rejuvenating facial oils.

Review: Lippy Girl Vegocentric Vegan Lipstick

I'm really enjoying using natural lipsticks these days, they're like a breath of fresh air. So I was thrilled when Botanical Brands sent me this Lippy Girl lipstick to try. This is the first time I've tried this brand, although I've heard good things. They're a Canadian brand founded by an ex-model and chemistry teacher, and are vegan, organic and eco-friendly.
I had fourteen shades to choose from and I ummed and ahhed. Did I want a night time shade or a day time shade? I decided on a day time shade and chose Ski Bunny, which was described as a matt, nude-toned pink shade. It came in a cardboard outer packet. The lipstick itself is housed in a 100% recyclable aluminium tube, which is a fabulous idea and certainly makes me want to buy more.

The base of this lipstick is shea butter, which makes the lipstick very soft and it's recommended on the packaging that you don't turn up the lipstick too much. I promptly forgot this and nearly broke the bloody thing on first attempt.
I'm usually a bit frustrated when buying lipsticks online, despite reseraching swatches thoroughly, because they are never as I expected. This was no exception as it was definitely a lighter pink than I thought it would be. The first couple of times I tried it, I wasn't overawed. It looked too natural for me, like I wasn't wearing lipstick.

However, I tried it again, teamed it with PHB Ethical Beauty lipliner in peach and Hurraw lipbalm in tinted cinnamon (I always use a lip balm under lipstick) and the colour really grew on me. It's such a lovely, soft, creamy lipstick. It applies perfectly and lasts well and gives a really nice tint on the lips for day time. I'm definitely converted to Lippy Girl and I can't wait to try more shades.

Review: BalmKind Lip Balm

I've been trying this lip balm for the last couple of months. BalmKind are a UK company based in Hampshire. Their products are cruelty-free and vegetarian and there are no parabens, mineral oil or palm oil. They use beeswax in their lip balm (this is their only product at the time of writing).

Review: Elsa's Skin Foods Natural Deodorant

When I first started using natural deodorants, they were a bit hit and miss. I became convinced that it was a myth that they could ever work and occasionally dipped back into my Superdrug deodorant on high-stress days. Now I can say it's been well over six months of no looking back to aluminium deodorants thanks to the amazing brands I've found. Elsa's Skin Foods goes directly into my top three favourites.
