April Love Lula Picks

These are the products I picked from Love Lula this month.

INNER SOUL ORGANICS ROSES AND LEMONS CLEANSE BALM
I can't get enough of cleansing balms, they are my favourite skin care item at the moment and I love to try brands I haven't used before. Inner Soul Organics won the Editor's Choice in the Beauty Shortlist Awards 2018 with this balm.
It comes beautifully packaged with a white ribbon. Inside, the glass jar is wrapped in bubble wrap (something more eco-friendly would be better) and there is a muslin cloth.

The jar labelling is very pretty and there are some words of wisdom on the side.
The balm contains anti-oxidant ingredients and butters and is 100% natural with 99% organic ingredients.
Words can't do this beautiful balm justice. It's pricey at £25, but worth it because your skin will feel treated every day. I've said before that when I have a nice balm, I really look forward to taking my make-up off and cleansing because I love how my skin feels afterwards. I've tried a number of balms and mainly liked them all, but this balm is really something else.
It's soft and delicate and just melts over the skin. It smells amazing and leaves the skin feeling so rejuvenated and clean. Suitable for dry, sensitive and mature skin, you can also use it as a healing balm of course and it can be left for five minutes on the face to penetrate deeply before washing away.

PURE CHIMP LEMON MATCHA GREEN TEA
My favourite teas are Lady Grey (made by Twinings) and Earl Grey and I've had issues with not liking fruit and herbal type teas in the past, but I was keen to try this tea for the health benefits I had heard about. It's simply made by adding a teaspoon to boiling water.

Unfortunately, it wasn't my er, cup of tea so I've passed it on to a green tea loving friend to give me her honest opinion and I'll post that in my next Love Lula picks.

INFUSE MY COLOUR RUBY SHAMPOO
As I colour my hair regularly, I like a shampoo that professes to protect colour, although since I started using natural skin and hair care, the only colour protector I think I've used is John Masters Organics conditioner for specific colours, which I liked a lot. So when I saw this range arrive at Love Lula targeted at specific colours, I was very keen to try it.
I chose Ruby as I had coloured my hair red the week before and the previous colour had faded within a couple of weeks, as red has a habit of doing. Anything that can keep this colour vibrant is a bonus to me. The shampoo is very bright, so be careful to wipe your bathroom tiles down afterwards 😆After a couple of weeks, I can see that my colour is staying a bit longer than usual and I can't see any evidence of greys coming through. I wouldn't use it every day, because I have an itchy scalp and I noticed I started to get itchy again when I was using it all the time, so I've been alternating it with my shampoo for itchy scalp. I'll definitely carry on using this product and I hope that when I reach the end of the bottle I can do an update to report on whether my colour stayed fresh until the next dye job.

ORGANIC GOJI BERRY POWDER
This is a supplement powder that you can use in smoothies, salads or to make juice. My first try was in a smoothie and I used two tablespoons instead of the recommended one and it was a bit much, to be honest. It's a very concentrated powder and strong-tasting so I would advice a teaspoon in a smoothie. I didn't get on with making it into a juice drink because of the taste but I'm keen to carry on with it as it is high in vitamin C and zinc.

LUCKY CLOUD SUPER BALM
I'm very interested in Lucky Cloud as I love their balm cleanser so I tried this as I have dry skin on my legs where my eczema has recently cleared up.
The balm is made with lavender and rose geranium and it's very soft and easy to get out of the glass jar (bonus points). It also smells absolutely gorgeous. As its name suggests, it's very soothing and perfect for dry skin. Also a great portable size.

OKKO FOOT BALM STICK

This stick is a clever idea and an alternative to digging your hands in a jar of thick cream. It's made with calendula and eucalyptus and it's easy to rub on and then massage in. It's also vegan, so it's a winner all around.
Ingredients: Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Extract, Mangifera Indica (Mango) Butter, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil*, Calendula Officinalis Flower Oil*, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil*, Euphorbia Cerifera Cera (Candelilla wax), Unrefined Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter*, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil*, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Essential oils of Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf* & Eucalyptus Globulus (Eucalyptus) Leaf*. STOP THE WATER WHILE USING ME! HAND BALM

I tried this vegan cucumber and lime hand balm in a sachet form after trying the same brand's lemon hand balm not long ago. I'm not a huge fan of the smell but it's an amazingly moisturising balm, one of the best I've used in a while.

KIMBERLY SAYER RESTORE ANTI-AGING CREAM
I expect the best from Kimberly Sayer because I see her as la creme de la creme and this sample didn't disappoint. It's a soft, light, well-absorbed cream that's a perfect base. I'd definitely try the full size.

Ingredients: Deionized Water, Sweet Almond Oil, Safflower Seed Oil, Algae Extract, Oat Beta Glucan, Oat Kernel Extract, Horsetail (silica), Lavender Oil, Vegetable Glycerin, Benzyl Alcohol (plant alcohol preservative), Aspen Bark Extract, Dipalmitoyl Hydroxyproline (potato), Shea Butter, Plant Phospholipids, Vitamins A, C & E, Borage Seed Oil, Rosemary Leaf Extract, Sunflower Seed Oil, Vegetable Gum

JOHN MASTERS ORGANICS SCALP STIMULATING SHAMPOO AND NEROLI DETANGLER
I was sent these two bonus samples from JMO. I've previously tried the citrus and neroil detangler and I really like it. It's so soft and gentle and leaves your hair in perfect condition.
The shampoo is a dark brown product with a minty, kind of hospital smell that leaves your hair feeling really clean and looking shiny. A very nice product and one I'd like to try in full size as I suffer with an itchy scalp.

In summary: I had such a wonderful range of products to try this month and there's some definite keepers there.
