Review: Alteya Organics

Hristo at Alteya Organics recently sent me some of their products to try. Made in Rose Valley in Bulgaria, AO are a family-owned business, started in 1999. They make a range of skin care, hair care, sun care and baby care. Their products are vegan apart from the lip balms which contain beeswax.

AGE DEFENSE HAND CREAM

This is a thick, easily absorbed cream that moisturises well. I like to put hand creams on last thing at night so they have a chance to work without being rubbed or washed off. 

The cream has a strong scent. I smell the rose first and then afterwards a kind of malty smell. All Alteya's range has a powerful scent as to be expected from rose-based products, so if you don't like this, the company may not be for you.

BIO DAMASCENA ROSE OTTO FACE WASH

This face wash is a luxurious gel which I found very good for a second wash after using cleansing balm and also a single wash first thing in the morning.

It leaves skin feeling really refreshed, clean and soft.

Ingredients: Organic Rosa Damascena (Rose) Flower Distillate, Organic Glycerin, Organic Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Potassium hydroxide, Ogranic Cyamopsis Tetragonoloba (Guar) Gum, Organic Olea Europea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Organic Cymbopogon Martini (Palmarosa) Oil, Organic Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Citric Acid, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Organic Rosa Damascena (Rose) Flower Oil, Organic Pelargonium graveolens (Geranium) Oil, Eugenol, Geraniol, Citronellol, Linalool.

BIO DAMASCENA AGE CONTROL SERUM

This serum comes in a little glass bottle with a novel dropper where you press the top to suck up some of the serum. It's a milky liquid that sinks in very quickly and leaves skin really satiny. 

 I found it was best used at night as when I put other things over the top of it during the day, I had some 'bittiness' (I hope that word makes sense to regular skin care users) and so I wasn't keen to use it under my make-up. There's no denying its effectiveness though as a skin smoother and moisturiser.

DIAPER RASH CREAM

 Hristo added this one to the pacakge as I regularly review my son's skin care at my blog. At four, he is way past needing nappy cream, but this is a lovely, multi-purpose thick cream which I've used as a moisturiser on his dry bits and eczema. 

Just to try it for its original purpose too, during a hospital stay recently, he had a bit of a sore bottom after multiple trips to the toilet and I found applying this really soothed the area and took away the redness. I'd recommend this to mums of both babies and toddlers for use all over.


In summary:
I really enjoyed trying further products from the Alteya range. Love Lula are their UK stockist and I am hoping soon they will stock their full baby range as I am keen to try this.
