Review: The September Love Lula Beauty Box

Here's my review of the September Love Lula box.

KATHLEEN TONING MIST

 My Nanna's name was Kathleen. And like her, this mist is softly-scented and beautiful. Containing lemon, chamomile and aloe vera, it soothes, rebalances and evens out redness. It's gorgeous. It feels so soothing when it goes on and my skin feels perfectly ready for the next step. Love it. No points for the plastic bottle though.

JOHN MASTERS ORGANICS SAMPLE SELECTION

I like getting JMO samples as I probably wouldn't splash the cash for a full size. The evening primrose shampoo and the citrus and neroli detangler I've used before in travel size and really enjoyed them. They both provide great moisture. The lavender and avocado intensive conditioner I  looked forward to trying and I wasn't disappointed. It left my hair so soft. Finally, the rose and apricot hair milk was a great sachet to apply after washing before I blow dried my hair. It smelled gorgeous and left my hair frizz-free. I haven't yet tried a JMO product I didn't like. Four great samples.

MACHO AND BLING FACE SCRUB

A new brand at Love Lula, Macho and Bling are a UK unisex company, which is a novelty in these days of clearly demarcated skin care products. This product had the right amount of scrubiness and left my face feeling clean and soft. It didn't smell of much but I liked it well enough even if I could have done without the PEG, thanks.

THE CASTILIAN SOAP COMPANY CASTILE SOAP

A new kid on the block, this company looks to be from the Love Lula camp who brought us Balm Balm, Glossyworks and Walden perfume. Now readers of this blog may know that I'm a fiend for scent. If something smells foul, I can't bring myself to use it. Similarly, my favourite products are those which smell great. Imagine how gutted I was when I found out that my random scent allocation was fragrance free! Noooooooo! Anyway, I've soldiered on bravely from the crushing disappointment and this is a really nice hand soap. It'll get a lot of use, but I'll be sticking a bit of lavender oil in 😛 No points for the plastic bottle.

INIKA MINERAL BLUSH IN BLOOMING NUDE

I already own this blusher. It's really pigmented and goes on well but it's a little dark for me. As I'm so pale I prefer pinky blushers but I do use it on occasion. It would be great for darker skins and lovely for autumn.
