The June Love Lula Beauty Box

Love Lula's June box was pretty fabulous. I'm so excited to see make-up in beauty boxes!

FOM LONDON HYDRA PLUMP SERUM

Recently I've researched how silk is obtained for skin care. There seems to be a fatal and a non-fatal way to produce it and I contacted FOM to find out what method they employ. I haven't yet received a reply from them. I can't see that a company who uses silk can be cruelty-free so unfortunately I couldn't use this product.

NATORIGIN BLACK MASCARA AND EYELINER

Oh wow, a double black mascara and eyeliner combo! It doesn't get any better than this in a beauty box. I was absolutely thrilled. Black mascara and eyeliner are my staples and I go through a fair amount of them. The eyeliner is creamy and soft and so black. It goes on really well and lasts all day. There is a touch of smudging by the end of the day but probably no more than other eyeliners I've used so I'd recommend it.

The mascara  has a decent brush and both lengthens and thickens. Readers of this blog will know I have issues with mascaras which lengthen but don't thicken. This does both and although it's not to the extent of another natural mascara I've used, this is still a very good mascara. Top marks for this duo!
N.B Neither are vegan as they contain beeswax and also both contain palm oil.

AYUMI INTENSIVE HAIR CONDITIONING TREATMENT

It's really nice to see another Ayumi product in the box as I really liked their body scrub last month. This one is gorgeous too. I used it after shampooing in the shower and my hair was so soft and silky after drying. It's great if you leave it on for a couple of minutes, plus it smells gorgeous and it's only £8.99! A total winner.

MADARA SUNSCREEN

SPF 20 is too low for me but I've used this a couple of times on my face when I'm not expecting too much sun exposure. It's really good under make-up, not leaving a white residue and not making my face greasy like so many other sun creams. I would say I prefer the Madara age defying sunscreen that was featured a couple of boxes ago as it's a better texture but this one's very good too.
