Review: Dr. Organic Hair and Skin Care

It seems like Ebay isn't the cheap place it used to be. It's full of shops selling items inflated above the RRP and bargains are few and far between. However, now and then, I manage a coup on a green beauty item and I got myself this bundle of Dr. Organic goodies a while back.
Dr. Organic is a British brand sold at Holland and Barrett. They are cruelty-free and vegetarian. Some of their products contain honey.
In the bundle there were 75ml travel sizes of shampoo, conditioner, body wash and 2 x 30ml tubes of body lotion.

In the Rose Otto range, there was shampoo, conditioner and body wash. In the Aloe Vera range, there was shampoo and conditioner. In the Coconut Oil range, there was shampoo, conditioner and body lotion and in the Argan Oil range there was shampoo and conditioner.
The Rose Otto range had a very heady, strong scent. While the products agreed with my skin and while I do love rose skin care, I probably wouldn't purchase again as the smell was a little bit strong for me. The Aloe Vera range was moisturising and nourishing but wasn't anything special. The coconut shampoo and conditioner left my hair feeling soft and renewed while the coconut body lotion was good for dry bits but I probably wouldn't use it all over as it was a little bit thin for me (I need a good butter).
The Argan oil range was my favourite, probably because of the smell (here I go again). It left my hair very nice and I would definitely use again.
In a separate auction, I also bought a bottle of Dr.Organic Moroccan Argan Oil Bath and Massage Oil. This is just a glorious bottle of sensuality. The smell is amazing. I can smell mostly cloves and cinnamon in it. The bottle is annoying. It doesn't have a little thing in the top to limit how much you can pour out, so you end up pouring far more onto your hands than you wanted. Also, it's one of those products where the bottle is permanently greasy and leaves rings when you put it down and the gold writing started to wear off quickly. You also need quite a lot of this to do a full body cover, so it's not particularly economical, but hey ho, a lovely oil that leaves you feeling great. I haven't used it as a massage oil, just a moisturiser, but I know it would be mighty fine to ask your other half for that!

Ingredients:

Prunus amygdalus dulcis (Sweet almond) oil, Caprylic/Capric triglyceride, Helianthus annuus (Sunflower) oil, Triticum vulgare (Wheat) germ oil, Argania spinosa (Argan) oil, Rosa canina (Rose) fruit oil, Simmondsia chinensis (Jojoba) oil, Macadamia ternifolia seed oil, Tocopheryl acetate, Citrus aurantium dulcis, Eugenia caryophyllus (Clove) leaf oil, Pelargonium graveolens (Geranium) oil, Citrus limon peel oil, Pogostemon cablin (Patchouli) oil, Cinnamomum zeylanicum (Cinnamon) leaf oil, Aniba rosaeodora (Rosewood) oil, Mentha arvensis herb oil, Citrus nobilis (Mandarin) peel oil, Vanilla planifolia (Vanilla) fruit extract, Mentha spicata herb oil, Limonene, Eugenol, Linalool, Citronellol, Geraniol, Citral, Benzyl benzoate.

In summary: A very enjoyable small trial of Dr.Organic. I think really each range would be good for all skin and hair types and I would try the full sizes in the Argan range.

You can buy the Dr.Organic range here. Holland and Barrett are currently running a buy one, get one half price sale.
