The May Love Lula Box

May's Love Lula box was an exotic feast for the face and the body with two brands I haven't tried before.

MADARA RE:GENE LIFTING MASK

Madara are an old favourite of the LL beauty box and you can usually guarantee a product from them once every few months. Which is handy for a lot of people (like me) who can't afford Madara's prices, especially as this comes in at a whopping £35.
This mask contains birch water and amino acids to lift and plump skin and smooth wrinkles.
It's a lilac/grey colour and feels really soothing going on. After about 20 minutes, it's easy to wash off and it leaves the skin feeling really soft. I didn't notice my face feeling more like a 'V' shape again (as the mask claims) but after I put my skincare on top, my skin felt great.

SEASCAPE ISLAND APOTHECARY REFRESH HAND LOTION

A strange one this as we had a Seascape hand and nail cream recently (very nice it was too). Although, when I checked this, it was actually 5 months ago - time flies! I'm still using the previous cream and I like it as it sinks in really easily, so you can use it during the day, which I don't usually like doing.
This has a lemon scent like the previous hand cream but I found the scent a bit foisty like the cream had gone off. I contacted LL and was sent a replacement but unfortunately that smelled the same. I began to be convinced it was my nose as no one else has complained about the smell. So I decided to pass this one on to someone who would use it, as I just couldn't get on with the smell.

AYUMI SANDALWOOD BODY SCRUB

A new brand at Love Lula, this body scrub features sandalwood, ginger and patchouli essential oils plus jojoba and babassu oils. The brand is all vegan and Leaping Bunny approved. The packaging is plastic and I do wish that all scrubs came in aluminium tins these days.
I feared that when I opened this, it would be brown like a coffee scrub, (I've recently been using a coffee scrub and while gorgeous, I'm so sick of having to clean the bath after it!), but to my delight it was pure white and left no residue on the bath.
It's a really lovely heady scented product and while not very 'scrubby', it does the job, particularly on delicate skin and leaves it so soft and perfumed.

JOIK LIP BALM

This pale pink balm contains beeswax so it isn't vegan. It sadly wasn't my cup of tea as it's very hard so you feel like you're constantly going to snap it as you apply pressure. The colour is very pale and subtle if you want a really sheer wash of colour.


Ingredients: Cera alba, orbignya oleifera seed oil, persea gratissima oil, ricinus commuunis seed oil, simmondsia chinensis seed oil, theobroma cacao seed butter, CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499.

VESTIGE VERDANT PEAT MASK

This mask, made from rare organic peat, boasts a number of skin care claims - it can tighten, smooth fine lines, heal allergic skin and decrease acne.
It's the quickest skin fix I've ever used - only three minutes - and left my skin really soft and smooth. A great choice if you're short of time. Also, great to give your child a giggle. I just say 'Mummy fell in the mud' when I've got a mud mask on and he laughs his head off. 😜

Ingredients: Sphagnum Peat Moss Extract, Aqua.
